No Man is an Island

I will make another trip out to St. Francisville ANYDAY to have the opportunity to spend time with such amazing people, take photographs, and enjoy the beauty of an antique and quirky wedding venue. If you have seen my post about The Glynns, then you are already familiar with the venue where these images were taken.

Wedding Venue: Louisiana Museum

If you are looking for a modern venue for your wedding, this IS the place. This building designed by one of my favorite Louisiana Architecture firms is MODERN, DRAMATIC, and well…just down right incredible.

Katy - Beautiful pictures Catherine! They really emphasize why Armand and I chose to host our wedding at the Museum. We fell in love with the Museum because we think it represents a perfect balance between progressive, youthful Louisiana and the historical Louisiana full of traditions from generations before.

It is such a captivating place in person. I’ve been there when it’s full of people and I’ve been there alone – either way it evokes so much emotion. These photos have captured all of the above! They are breathtaking, probably equally as breathtaking as the museum itself. Great job, can’t wait to spend an evening there with you.

catherineguidry - Katy, I love the way you said it is a “perfect balance between progressive, youthful Louisiana and the historical Louisiana full of traditions from generations before.” I never thought of it that way, but it’s so true. I think the most beautiful part of the museum is the contract between the historic downtown and the modern architecture, especially the way the capital is framed by the modern structure!
I could go on and on and on about these things..lol. But yes, I am definitely looking forward to the wedding!!

Every image in this series was shot without the ability to check my image after it was taken. I had to rely 100%

Hannah - How do you find out about all these things?

catherineguidry - Hey Hannah!
This function was put on by the Professional Photographers Guild of Acadiana. They send out the information to all of their members.

Robyn, Scott…Hurricane, & Louisiana

When I first met with Robyn and Scott they talked about bringing their dogs along for their engagement shoot.

And being that I am so attached to my 5lb chaotic chihuahua, I can relate to the idea of the dogs as part of the family! :)

So..they traveled all the way from New Orleans with Louisiana (Loui) and Hurricane (Caine) to New Iberia for their session.

This was my first experience with animals, but I had so much fun.
